There was a single gas station in cities across Lassen County selling diesel at the price of $5.79 per gallon in the week ending June 15, according to GasBuddy.com.
Of the five gas stations in cities within Lassen County, just one offers diesel.
The average price of diesel in California was $5.03, compared to $5.09 the week before.
Experts predict gasoline prices could drop below $3 this year before rebounding closer to $4 by year’s end. GasBuddy forecasted a national average of $3.38 per gallon, down from $3.51. An outlook published in late 2023 suggests that gas rates will continue to fall in 2024.
