FOIA Request to Feather River College Regarding Chinese National Students on June 3, 2025.

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and accountability in local governmental affairs, NE Cali News has submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Feather River College. The request seeks detailed information about the college’s current Chinese National students and related policies.

Specifically, we have requested documents or lists that provide insights into the number of Chinese National students currently enrolled at the college and their respective departments of study. If student names are protected under privacy laws, we have asked for a total count broken down by department.

Additionally, we are seeking information on scholarships awarded to these students. This includes details on the amount each student receives and the source of these scholarships. We are particularly interested in any scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council.

Furthermore, our request includes any policies or procedures that outline how Feather River College monitors its students, including Chinese Nationals, to safeguard the university’s intellectual property and other confidential information.

This request is made on behalf of NE Cali News and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy. As members of the media dedicated to holding public institutions accountable, we believe access to this information is crucial for providing transparency to the public. We have also requested a fee waiver based on our role in disseminating news.
